Raw materials for making adult diapers
Mar 12, 2025
The manufacture of adult diapers requires the use of a variety of raw materials, which together constitute the multi-layer structure of diapers to ensure their water absorption, breathability, comfort and leak-proofness. The main raw materials for adult diapers include:
1. Non-woven fabric:
Non-woven fabric is one of the main materials for diapers, used to make the surface layer, diversion layer, bottom film, and anti-leakage edges.
The topsheet non-woven fabric is in direct contact with the skin, and is required to be soft, breathable, and can quickly guide urine to penetrate into the next layer.
The ADL nonwoven fabric helps to quickly and evenly disperse urine to the absorbent core layer to avoid local over-wetting.
The backsheet non woven fabric is usually used in combination with PE film to prevent urine from leaking out while maintaining a certain degree of breathability.
As an important type of non-woven fabric, spunbond non-woven fabric is widely used in diaper manufacturing due to its high strength, low cost, and good breathability.
2. Fluff pulp: Fluff pulp is a plant-based fiber material used as part of the absorbent layer of diapers. It has good water absorption and fluffiness, and can quickly absorb and store urine.
3. Super absorbent polymer (SAP): Polymer absorbent resin is the core material of the absorbent layer of diapers, which can absorb and lock a large amount of water. It has the characteristics of large water absorption, fast water absorption, and strong water retention, which is the key to ensure that diapers stay dry for a long time.
4. PE film: PE film (polyethylene film) is a waterproof plastic film, which is often used in the bottom film part of diapers. It is used in combination with non-woven fabrics to effectively prevent urine from leaking and maintain the integrity of diapers.
5. Hot melt adhesive: Hot melt adhesive is a plastic adhesive used to firmly bond the various layers of diaper materials together. It is non-toxic and odorless, an environmentally friendly chemical product, and plays a key role in the production process.
6. Other auxiliary materials:
In addition to the above main raw materials, the manufacture of diapers also requires the use of some auxiliary materials, such as elastic thread, waist material, Velcro, etc.
These materials together constitute the complete structure of diapers, ensuring that they are comfortable to wear, easy to adjust the size and fixed in place.
