The difference between treated and untreated fluff pulp
Dec 30, 2024
Treated fluff pulp (treated wood pulp) and untreated fluff pulp (untreated wood pulp) are significantly different in many dimensions. Fluff pulp, whether it is virgin wood pulp or recycled wood pulp (such as regenerated pulp), has been chemically or mechanically treated, a step designed to remove impurities and improve the purity and separation of fibers. In contrast, untreated fluff pulp is extracted directly from wood without any further treatment, so it contains more impurities and incompletely separated fibers.
In terms of performance, fluff pulp shows higher absorption performance, its fiber structure is uniform, its air permeability is good, and it is soft and delicate, all of which help to improve the comfort of the product. At the same time, fluff pulp is more closely integrated with other materials, and its structural stability is strong, which can effectively prevent diapers from deforming or lumping after absorbing water. In contrast, untreated fluff pulp has poor absorption performance, air permeability and softness, and its structural stability is also insufficient.
In terms of application and market demand, fluff pulp is widely used in high-end diapers, sanitary products and other fields due to its excellent performance, meeting consumers' demand for product quality and comfort. Untreated fluff pulp is mostly used in low-end or low-cost products, but as consumers' requirements for product quality and environmental protection continue to increase, its market demand may gradually decrease.
